Kilronan Morgan Performance Horse's

Breeding for performance excellence

Performance Morgans

While the Morgan is quite an old breed (America's first registered breed) they are few and far between on the International Scene for the Olympic Diciplins, in my experience this is due to a lack of exposure than a lack of talent. Here we hope to keep you updated on how Morgan's are proving themselves as performance horses both in Australia and Internationally.

Eventing

In 1998 USA rider Buck Davidson had great success with a Morgan X called Pajama Game, at the height of his carrear this combination were Short listed for the National Squad and during 1998 Buck and Pajama Game placed 6th at the Rolex Kentucky CCI*** (Known Affectionately in the davidson family as "that darn Morgan")

Canadian young rider Jessica Ruppel is doing well on a 9yo Morgan X called "Naughty by Nature" the pair recently won the National Championships CIC2** class and are long listed for the 2009 Canadian National Eventing Squad. “I was so pleased with my horse, especially in the cross-country. The mud was brutal, but he was so good,” commented Ruppel.

Dressage

In 2007 David MacMillian Made Morgan history by riding his all Morgan Dressage team at a FEI competition at Sage Creek Dressage Show in Charlston, Utah. David rode West Mt Winston (Far Well’s Brooks x West Mt Santana) Greentree Ever Reddi (Greentree Bonniejohn x Reddy Ann Eager) and Greentree Courtney (Greentree Brigadier x Niobrara Mayfair) Out of 11 horses competing in the FEI tests, Reddi and Courtney received the two highest Prix St George Scored at the show, and Winston received the top score at Intermediate 1.
